Independent Behavioral Health Advisory & Advocacy

Every opinion in this system is attached to something. This one is not.

Baker Private Advisory is an independent behavioral health advocate: retained by the client alone for clinical consultation, independent assessment of the situation, coordination across the providers involved, and honest counsel through serious behavioral health, substance use, and treatment decisions. The firm is led by Christopher Baker, LICSW, CAADC, and accepts nothing from any provider.

Independent assessment · Clinical consultation · Provider coordination · Decision counsel

Newport, Rhode Island
Why This Voice

Senior clinical and operational roles across the behavioral health system. Now outside it, on your side alone.

Assistant Chief of Clinical Operations · Clinical Director · Consulting Clinical Advisor · Supervisory Field Instructor

Christopher Baker built his expertise across every category of the system, then stepped outside of it. The knowledge of what happens inside, working only for you, is what makes this the voice to trust.

When to Call

Some situations do not fit an ordinary referral.

A family is divided over a treatment decision.
A loved one is cycling through care without clarity or stability.
Substance use, psychiatric symptoms, or behavioral risk is affecting the whole family.
An attorney, fiduciary, wealth advisor, or family office is managing clinical complexity in a client matter.
A treatment recommendation needs an independent, unbiased review.
You need the options explored and vetted by someone with no stake in the answer.
The Work

Independent advocacy, shaped to the client it serves.

At the center of the work is advocacy: a senior clinician standing on the client's side of the behavioral health system, with no compensation from any part of it. The work is clinical consultation, independent assessment of the situation, and coordination across every provider involved, with options explored and vetted when a placement decision is genuinely in question. When the moment calls for more than counsel, the firm also leads structured interventions and manages safe, discreet transport to treatment, end to end. That advocacy takes three retained forms.

1

Understand the Situation

Independent assessment of what is actually happening: the record, the providers, the recommendation, the family picture.

2

Advise the Decision

Plain, unattached counsel on the choice in front of you, with the options weighed on the merits.

3

Carry the Plan

Coordination, oversight, and steady presence through transitions, with direct services when the moment requires them.

For a family, one steady clinical authority who can settle the room and build a plan everyone is able to stand behind. For an individual, an honest, independent read on the recommendation in front of you, and an advocate at your side through the system. For a trust, estate, or wealth matter, clinical judgment placed at the point where a fiduciary decision meets a behavioral health reality.

Engagements range from a single independent read to The Retained Advisory, the heart of the work: a steady hand held through the whole arc of a situation, so that every major decision is made with experienced judgment behind it.

No stake in any outcome. No answer to anyone but the client.

The Distinction

You retain Christopher Baker directly, not a program, a platform, or a placement service.

Baker Private Advisory is deliberately structured around one retained advisor. The person who takes the first call is the person responsible for the judgment, the strategy, the family conversations, and the provider communication that follow. For sensitive matters, that structure is what makes real discretion and clear accountability possible.

One Conversation

Direct line to Christopher.

The first call reaches Christopher Baker directly: a conversation about the situation and whether the firm is the right resource for it. There is no intake layer, coordinator, or assignment process between the inquiry and the person responsible for the advisory work.
